234 Festival 2022

If man is 5, then the devil is 6, and if the devil is 6 then the Green Door Store is 234! Oh it is back baby! Bigger, sweeter, tastier and more delectable than ever, we are incredibly proud to bring you our most exciting line-up to date- and it’s still free entry.

It’s with immense pleasure we can announce English Teacher and Low Hummer are going to be gracing our stage, topping the bill on the Saturday and Sunday respectively. With constant Radio 1 airplay and fresh from three sets at Glastonbury, English Teacher are one of the most hotly-tipped bands in the land: we’re incredibly excited to have them play before their inevitable blow-up. Low Hummer are the Hull-based, guitar-laden-electronica to perfectly round off an incredible autumnal weekend of music. Merging noise and disco into the most palatable package you’ve received since your last hungover crawl to the door to greet your Deliveroo driver- Low Hummer are the Sunday treat you all deserve.

Like all other great major festivals, it isn’t all just about the headliners however. With meticulous curation, 234 Fest is the best free opportunity to witness an incredible array of our seagull infested city’s finest emerging acts in just one place. Radiator and plant loving psychedelic janglers, Hutch, take a gargantuan leap up the bill from their festival opening slot last year to now taking their rightful place as gentle juggernauts of the Brighton DIY scene. Porchlight will bring their erratic and claustrophobic post-punk blend to the Saturday following what will be a ferocious set from Riot Grrrl revivalists, Hot Wax. Slurry, jangle jank will be provided by The Famous People but not before Monakis tear apart the bar with their politically charged punk. Hypsoline are the enchanting guitar-pop group to dance-along to, whilst Congratulations will don their coloured suits and cause a raucous with their energetic bar-performance. We’re also proud to have Nice Swan’s newest accolade, Shady Baby, play their 21stBritpop as well as the city’s most exciting newcomers, City Dog, who have been selling out shows and recently went on tour with Surfbort. Another special treat on this first wave of line-up is Leeds’ finest, L’Objectif, who we cannot wait to have perform their angular and noisy noir pop.

And this is only the first wave! Stay alert on our socials for the next round of announcements. In the meantime, book the 24-25thSeptember off work and cancel your plans- this is the Autumn’s hottest party, you don’t want to miss it.
