Celebrating the life of DJ John Peel (30th August 1939-25th October 2004) with a double headline show from The Cravats, launching their new LP, and The Nightingales.
Formed in 1977, The Cravats recorded 4 Peel sessions, plus 2 more when they morphed into The Very Things. They release their first brand new album in 35 years at the beginning of October on Overground Records and where better to launch this eagerly awaited 13 track shiny thing of weirdness than with their chums, The Nightingales.
Formerly The Prefects, The Nightingales recorded 8 Peel sessions in the 80s. Reformed in 2004 they’ve made several fantastic albums and toured all over the UK & Europe. Current line-up includes Robert Lloyd, (The Prefects), Andreas Schmid from Faust, James Smith and ex Violet Violet drummer Fliss Kitson. We’ve sen them many times and they’re on top form.
